A dinner between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump has begun in China, with a menu designed to cater to the guest’s discerning tastes. The state banquet combines traditional Chinese delicacies with dishes tailored to Western tastes.

The main menu includes Peking duck, crispy spare ribs, lobster in tomato soup, and a fried pork bun. Trump will also be served salmon slow-cooked in mustard sauce and braised seasonal vegetables.

The dessert menu includes tiramisu, ice cream, a fruit platter, and a special seashell-shaped pastry. This adaptation of the diplomatic reception is aimed at creating a favorable atmosphere during the talks between the leaders of Russia and the United States. Previously, the media has repeatedly drawn attention to the American leader’s specific dietary habits during foreign visits.

As a reminder, Trump has arrivedin China for the first time in nearly a decade.
