The Kremlin denies Putin's rejection of the US peace plan for Ukraine

Moscow has stated that Vladimir Putin did not reject the American peace plan for Ukraine.

This was confirmed by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who noted that his previous statements had been misinterpreted.

‘The statement that Putin rejected the US peace plan for Ukraine is incorrect, this is not the case,’ Peskov said.

It is known that the meeting between US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Putin took place after two days of talks in Florida with Ukrainian and American officials, where the latest version of the peace plan was discussed.

The 28-point plan was presented to Ukraine by US representatives two weeks ago and sparked much debate, as analysts consider it favourable to Russia.

Negotiations between the US and Ukraine have already taken place in Geneva and Florida, where diplomats finalised the plan, which was then presented to the Kremlin.

However, it is clear that the Russian side shows no desire for peace talks, insisting on achieving its goals within the framework of the so-called ‘special military operation.’

Recall that Putin said that he would wait for Ukraine to agree to his terms.
