The Crown Princess of Norway underwent a lung transplant

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway has successfully undergone a complex lung transplant at the National Hospital in Oslo.

In recent months, the member of the royal family has been in the public spotlight due to the scandal surrounding the “Epstein files” and the criminal case against her son.

An official statement regarding the Crown Princess’s current health condition was released by the Royal Palace’s press office.

The surgery was performed by leading Norwegian specialists, who spoke highly of the results. Arnt Fiane, head of the thoracic surgery department, stated that the transplant was successful.

The doctor also expressed his deep gratitude to all his colleagues: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the team members who participated in planning and performing the operation.”

Despite the positive progress, the Crown Princess requires long-term medical supervision and will not be able to return home immediately.

Aare Holm, head of the hospital’s pulmonology department, noted that the Crown Princess will remain in the hospital for several more weeks. Doctors must be fully certain that there are no risks to the patient.

The specialist explained in detail the reasons for Mette-Marit’s extended stay at the medical facility following the transplant.

“This is a standard procedure necessary for adjusting medication, addressing potential complications, and conducting rehabilitation,” he added.

The body’s recovery process following an organ transplant requires strict adherence to protocols.
