Bardella, leader of the French far-right, visited the Polish-Belarusian border
Jordan Bardella, leader of the French far-right party “National Rally,” on Friday, June 19, visited the Polish-Belarusian border, which remains one of the key flashpoints on the European Union’s eastern flank.
This was reported by Paweł Schefernaker, head of the Polish president’s office, who accompanied the French politician.
Schefernaker noted that during the visit, the Polish Border Guard demonstrated to the French politician how border security operates, including the physical barrier and a modern electronic monitoring system.
“This is an important opportunity to showcase solutions that support the effective protection of the European Union’s external border,” said Schefernaker.
At the border with Belarus, Bardella also met with politicians from the far-right “Confederation of Freedom and Independence” party.
Bardella also visited Frontex headquarters in Warsaw. He stated that since 2021, the Polish border—the gateway to Europe—has been “under unacceptable migratory pressure from Belarus, with the consent of the Russian Federation.”
“These destabilization operations are aimed solely at tearing Europe apart from within. We will never accept this blackmail: Frontex must stand alongside Poland to protect our continent,” he wrote on social media platform X on June 19.
Bardella could become the National Rally’s candidate for the French presidency if Marine Le Pen is barred from running due to her conviction for embezzling EU funds.
