A mass shooting occurred in Toledo, Ohio, near the site of the annual "Old West End" festival.
As a result of this incident, at least 12 people sustained injuries of varying severity.
Law enforcement agencies have launched a large-scale operation, but the suspects have not yet been apprehended.
According to preliminary reports from local police, a conflict broke out between several individuals directly near the festival grounds.
“At least two armed individuals reportedly opened fire on each other, but bystanders were caught in the crossfire,” investigators said.
The chaotic gunfire caused panic among visitors, who tried to find cover.
Numerous emergency response teams and medical personnel quickly arrived at the scene and transported the victims to the nearest hospitals. The ages of the wounded range from 14 to 61, with most of them being young people around 20 years old.
Currently, doctors assess the condition of 10 victims as stable, while two people remain in critical condition under constant medical supervision.
The tragedy unfolded at a time when a large number of civilians were attending the mass event.
According to officials, there were several hundred people at the festival at the time. The annual festival is a beloved tradition in Toledo and features live music, food markets, and activities for children.
