A large-scale forest fire has been contained in a national park in Germany
In Germany, firefighters managed to contain a large-scale wildfire in the Müritz National Park that broke out on the site of a former military training ground.
To contain the fire, rescue workers created special water barriers that saturate the soil and trees in undamaged areas with moisture, forming a protective strip to prevent the flames from spreading further.
According to local authorities, the fire covered approximately 388 hectares. About 370 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the blaze, along with a firefighting helicopter, which has already completed its mission.
The rapid spread of the fire was caused by a prolonged lack of rainfall and strong westerly winds. Although the fire has been contained, authorities are urging tourists not to approach the area, as smoke is still visible there.
