Cyprus issued a yellow warning on Friday due to severe thunderstorms. As Cyprus Mail reports, the meteorological department forecasts locally severe thunderstorms that will affect the island from time to time.
The warning will remain in effect until 17:00
The warning is valid from 10:00 to 17:00 on Friday. During this period, intense thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected in some areas. According to meteorologists, rainfall intensity may exceed 35 millimetres per hour in some localities.

Bad weather may spread to other areas
Initially, thunderstorms are expected to cover the western half of Cyprus and may later spread to other parts of the island. Hail is also expected during the thunderstorms. Winds will be variable, although they may strengthen in some areas. The meteorological department warned that the severe thunderstorms will be local in nature.
