A wildfire in southern Spain has engulfed about 8,000 hectares — El País
A wildfire near the municipality of Niebla in the province of Huelva in southern Spain has spread to approximately 8,000 hectares. Due to the threat of the fire, authorities evacuated 467 people.
The largest number of people—283 residents—were evacuated from Berrocal. At the same time, authorities organized controlled access to the settlements so that residents could retrieve essential belongings and tend to their animals.
Francisco Toscano, the central government’s representative in Andalusia, stated that conditions for fighting the fire were somewhat more favorable at night. In the morning, aircraft were deployed to help extinguish the blaze.
Despite this, the situation remains difficult. Meteorologists are forecasting a change in wind direction and gusts of up to 30–35 km/h, as well as very low humidity, which could complicate efforts to contain the fire.

Record-low water levels in the Danube due to severe drought have exposed dozens of sunken German ships from World War II. On the Serbian-Romanian border, in the middle of the river on a sandbar that is usually submerged, the wreckage of one of the ships has become visible.
The drought in Europe has sharply lowered water levels in the Dniester Reservoir.
