On May 23, Polish President Karol Nawrocki thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his statement regarding the possible deployment of 5,000 U.S. troops to Poland.
As is known, Trump stated that the United States “will send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland”—without specifying how this fits in with previous announcements regarding plans to station U.S. troops in Poland.
“I thank President Trump for his friendship toward Poland and for decisions whose practical significance we see very clearly today,” Navrotsky commented.
He emphasized that he would continue to “stand guard over the Polish-American alliance.”
“Good alliances are those based on cooperation, mutual respect, and commitment to our shared security,” the Polish president added.
Polish President Navrotskydoes not plan to visit Ukraine in 2026.
