Germany Condemns the Detention of a DW Correspondent in Turkey
The German government said it was “extremely outraged” by the re-arrest of Deutsche Welle correspondent Alikan Uludag in Turkey.
The journalist was detained on suspicion of inciting hatred and spreading false information. A court in Ankara subsequently released him under judicial supervision, prohibiting him from leaving Turkey.
Officials in Berlin stated that such actions by the Turkish authorities violate the principles of press freedom, which the country has committed to uphold as a member of the Council of Europe and a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights. At the same time, the German government noted that it could not intervene in the case because the journalist does not hold German citizenship.

Germany will not participate in the first exercises of the Coalition of the Resolute in Poland.
As a reminder, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev stated that the country will no longer participate in the “Coalition of the Willing” format, as it advocates for a diplomatic resolution to the war in Ukraine rather than further military support.
Members of the “Coalition of the Willing” called for a complete and immediate cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. They also agreed to increase the supply of air defense systems and reaffirmed their readiness to provide Ukraine with reliable security guarantees.
