UAE and Lebanon launch AI training for one million people — The National
In New York, United States, the UAE and Lebanon announced the launch of the “One Million Lebanese AI Experts” initiative, which is intended to teach one million people in Lebanon how to use AI technologies. The initiative was presented during a meeting between UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, The National reports.
Generative AI training
The program will be implemented as part of the UAE Government Experience Exchange Programme in cooperation with the Lebanese government. It includes training in generative artificial intelligence and prompt engineering — the formulation of instructions for AI applications.
Participants are expected to gain practical skills in using artificial intelligence tools at work and in everyday life. In particular, they will be taught how to formulate instructions and guide applications in order to obtain more accurate and effective results.

Lebanese prime minister’s statement at the UN
On the same day, Nawaf Salam addressed the UN General Assembly. According to him, the revolution in artificial intelligence opens unprecedented opportunities for progress in various areas of life, but at the same time creates challenges for the future of work, human rights and fundamental freedoms.
The Lebanese prime minister called for international regulation centered on people, their freedom and privacy. He also stated that Lebanon would not allow itself to become a platform for other people’s conflicts or a bargaining chip in broader regional disputes.
Salam stated the government’s commitment to extend state authority across all of Lebanon’s territory and carry out reforms. He acknowledged that the cabinet had not yet fulfilled all its commitments, noting that it had inherited weakened state institutions, ineffective public administration and an economy exhausted by years of crises.
