Beijing records 8.78 million tourist visits during Mid-Autumn Festival — ECNS

In Beijing, China, 8.783 million tourist visits were recorded during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from September 25 to 27. Tourist spending amounted to 11.54 billion yuan, or $1.72 billion. This was reported by ECNS, citing the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

Inbound tourism

During this period, the city recorded 83,000 inbound tourist visits. Spending by inbound tourists amounted to 780 million yuan.

Popular places to visit included Beijing Olympic Park, Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, the Xidan area, and Tiananmen Square. Visitors were also attracted by Mid-Autumn Festival cultural events and nighttime city tours.

Performances and cultural program

During the holiday period, 951 commercial performances were held in Beijing. They were attended by about 390,000 spectators, while box office revenue amounted to approximately 170 million yuan.
