Ukraine's First Lady Will Also Not Attend the Conference in Gdańsk — Radio ZET

Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska has reportedly canceled her planned trip to Gdańsk, Poland, for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026).

This decision followed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decision to withdraw from the event amid a high-profile scandal involving the revocation of a Polish award.

As part of the official program for the visit on Thursday, the First Lady was scheduled to deliver a special lecture to students and faculty at the University of Gdańsk.

However, the Ukrainian side’s international plans underwent urgent changes due to diplomatic tensions between the two countries.

According to Radio ZET journalists, on Wednesday morning, the administration of the University of Gdańsk officially received notification that Olena Zelenska’s visit had been canceled.

The First Lady’s decision was a logical follow-up to the move by the head of state himself, who had previously declined to attend an international summit in Poland.

The scandal stemmed from the situation surrounding a prestigious Polish award that was initially granted to the Ukrainian leader but later revoked, sparking a negative reaction in Kyiv.

So far, official representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have not commented on the cancellation of the first lady’s visit.

This was reported by Radio ZET, citing its own informed sources in diplomatic circles.
