Nine soldiers were killed during naval exercises in Kazakhstan

At least nine servicemen of the Kazakhstani Navy were killed on September 24 during exercises on the Caspian Sea coast in the Mangistau Region. Due to a sudden deterioration in weather conditions and storm-force winds, 19 servicemembers were swept out to sea.

Three servicemen were rescued, one of whom was hospitalized, and the search for the remaining seven continues. A commission from the Kazakh Ministry of Defense, led by Minister Dauren Kosanov, has been dispatched to the scene to investigate the circumstances of the incident and coordinate the rescue operation.

In the French city of Angers, two soldiers died in a diving accident. The tragedy occurred overnight from Monday to Tuesday during training exercises on the Maine River.
