Eight South Korean workers missing in flash flood in Nepal
Eight South Korean workers have gone missing in a flash flood in Nepal's Rasuwa region, while another 10 have been stranded at the site. This was reported by The Korea Herald, citing South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Workers at hydropower plant construction site
The flood occurred on Wednesday morning. The eight missing workers were employees of Korea South-East Power Co. and Doosan Enerbility and were working at a hydropower plant construction site in the area.
Nepalese authorities dispatched a rescue team, including military personnel and police officers, to the affected area. They are conducting a search-and-rescue operation.

Rescue efforts and Seoul's actions
Another 10 Doosan Enerbility workers remained stranded at the site and were awaiting rescue. According to South Korea's Foreign Ministry, the Nepalese government dispatched a helicopter to the area.
After receiving information about the incident, the South Korean Embassy in Nepal asked local authorities to promptly conduct search-and-rescue operations for the eight missing citizens. A consular official was also sent to the scene.
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung ordered that all response measures be taken. The government formed an emergency task force to protect citizens abroad, involving representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the National Fire Agency and the National Police Agency. The group will be headed by Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and is planned to be sent to Nepal as soon as possible.
