The Prime Minister of Finland will attend the Conference on Ukraine’s Recovery in Gdańsk

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will participate in the fifth Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, to be held on June 25 in Gdańsk. At the event, he will represent Finland and discuss support for Ukraine’s reconstruction.

“Finland and Ukraine have long cooperated in areas such as defense, education, the rule of law, energy, and the environment. Our cooperation is also a way to support Ukraine on its path to EU membership. It’s wonderful that negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU finally began officially last week,” Orpo said.

He added that nearly 20 Finnish companies and representatives of the business community will participate in the conference in Gdańsk.

Orpo will also participate in the Second Eastern Flank Summit, which will focus on improving Europe’s security and defense capabilities, particularly along the EU’s eastern border.

“It is important to continue these discussions in this format. The countries of the Eastern Flank are working together more than ever before. The ‘Eastern Flank Watch’ initiative, launched in Helsinki last December, is yielding good results. Recent incidents involving drones underscore the importance of our efforts to accelerate the process of strengthening Europe’s defense and security on the Eastern Flank, the bulwark of Europe,” Orpo noted.

The first Eastern Flank Summit took place in Helsinki in December 2025. This was reported to a Ukrinform correspondent by the press service of the Finnish Mission to the EU.
