Italian Prime Minister Meloni Wants to Register Her Voice as a Trademark — Reuters
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has filed an application with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) to register her own voice as a trademark.
The application is dated October 5 and includes a four-second audio recording in which Meloni says the phrase “I am Giorgia Meloni” twice in Italian.
In this way, the prime minister aims to protect herself from deepfakes created using artificial intelligence. The application is currently under review.
The phrase “Io sono Giorgia” became famous after Meloni’s speech at a political rally in 2019. It later became the title of her autobiography and was even used to create a disco track.
