Indonesian president chants Free Palestine — Anadolu Agency
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto chanted “Free Palestine” several times during a speech at a reception marking the 100th anniversary of an Islamic school. Anadolu Agency reports.

During the event, Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulfattah A. K. Al-Sattari presented Subianto with a keffiyeh. After that, the president returned to the podium and, according to the state news agency Antara, wiped his eyes with the scarf. He then repeated the slogan “Free Palestine” several times.

Statements on strengthening the country
Subianto also stated that a strong Indonesia would be able to help “brothers and sisters who are oppressed by another regime.” According to him, the ongoing attacks on Palestinians should become an impetus for strengthening the country’s national power.
The president said that the strength of the state depends on its ability to be self-sufficient. He stressed that Indonesia must use its natural resources effectively, protect and strengthen itself. Subianto also called for learning from history so that the country never experiences colonization again.
