Professor Douglas K. Boateng has received the IMM Institute Lifetime Achievement Award in Supply Chain Management. The honour was announced in a statement distributed on September 29, 2026, in Accra, Ghana, and Johannesburg. Integrated supply chains

Upon receiving the award, the professor said he accepted it with deep gratitude and viewed it as a responsibility to continue sharing knowledge and supporting the next generation of specialists. He noted that African countries need stronger and more integrated supply chains for industrialization, to seize the opportunities of the African Continental Free Trade Area, and to achieve the African Union's Agenda 2063 goals.

In Boateng's view, African states should not only trade with one another but also develop interconnected value chains. He stressed the need to more effectively link mineral and agricultural resources, manufacturing, technology, finance, logistics, professional expertise and consumer markets to develop industry and create jobs.
