Russia spoke out in support of Iran at the UN regarding the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz
Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, spoke out in support of Iran, noting its right to impose restrictions on passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
CNN reported this on Tuesday, April 28.
“There was an attempt to place all the blame on Iran, as if Iran had attacked its neighbors and was deliberately obstructing navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. In wartime, a coastal state under attack may restrict navigation in its territorial waters for security purposes,” Nebenzia stated.
Iran has again restricted ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz following a conflict with the U.S. Tehran claims this is a response to Washington’s actions.
Trump stated that the U.S. wants to obtain Iranian uranium by any means necessary.
