Russia has launched an IPSO campaign on fires in Europe to promote its aviation industry
Against the backdrop of massive wildfires in Spain and France, Russia has stepped up its information campaign, promoting the narrative that EU sanctions are allegedly hindering effective firefighting efforts and creating a need for Russian firefighting aircraft.
According to analysts, pro-Russian media outlets are spreading reports of an alleged critical shortage of aircraft due to the inability to maintain Russian Ka-32 helicopters.
At the same time, they fail to mention that Spain has one of the largest fleets of firefighting aircraft in Europe and deploys both its own and allied planes and helicopters to fight fires.
Furthermore, Spain has already ordered new DHC-515 Firefighter amphibious aircraft, and EU countries continue to coordinate assistance through the Civil Protection Mechanism.

In France, officials warned on July 27 that the large-scale wildfires near Bordeaux could last several more months and may not be fully extinguished by the end of summer. Rescue workers are comparing the situation to the major fires of previous years and are urging people to prepare for a long battle against the flames.
More than 300,000 people have been evacuated in France and Spain due to massive wildfires that have swept through regions of Southern Europe. In southwestern France, in the Gironde region, more than 220,000 residents have left their homes. The fire there has spread across approximately 32,700 hectares of land.
