A powerful tornado struck Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast

In Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast, 16 people were injured as a result of a powerful tornado, and about 4,000 residents were left without power. 

The storm caused significant damage to residential areas and the region’s infrastructure on the evening of June 22. 

To address the aftermath of the natural disaster in the affected city, authorities promptly declared a state of emergency.

The storm swept through the Gorno-Uralsky District between the towns of Mala Laya and Baranchinsky, and also affected the city of Kushva. Russian rescue workers reported widespread damage to power lines and private homes. 

Emergency repair and restoration work is currently underway in the region, with utility services involved in the efforts.

In total, the storm damaged 15 power lines and nearly a hundred residential buildings, 32 of which were completely destroyed. 

As a result of downed power lines, 4,000 customers in several settlements were left without power. Medical personnel continue to provide necessary assistance to all citizens who sustained injuries during the natural disaster.
