Romania has commented on rumors about sending troops to Ukraine
The office of Romanian President Nicușor Dana has denied online reports claiming that Romanian troops were being sent to Ukraine to participate in the war, calling these reports “alarmist manipulation.” Officials in Bucharest emphasized that the country is not sending combat units and will not deploy military personnel on Ukrainian territory or to the front lines.
At the same time, Romania plans to contribute up to 20 staff officers to the Multinational Force in support of Ukraine. These specialists will be involved in planning, coordination, and management outside of Ukraine, as the command structure is based in France and the United Kingdom.
Prior to this, Romanian President Nicușor Dan addressed Parliament with a request to approve the participation of up to 20 Romanian military personnel in this command. Specifically, these are staff officers who will handle planning, coordination, command, and control.

On the morning of August 30, an air raid alert was declared in part of Tulcea County, Romania, due to an unidentified aerial target near the border with Ukraine. To monitor the situation, the Romanian military scrambled two F-16 fighter jets.
On the evening of Monday, August 24, Romania scrambled two F-18 fighter jets from the Spanish Air and Space Force after detecting two aerial targets moving toward the Romanian border.
