Saudi coalition says it destroyed 82 Houthi targets in Yemen — Anadolu Agency

The Saudi-led coalition said it had destroyed 82 Houthi military targets in the Saada, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf and Marib provinces of Yemen. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki.

Strikes on depots and command centers

According to al-Maliki, the targets included 11 ballistic missile shelters in mountainous areas of Saada province. The coalition also said it had struck command and control centers, communications systems, missile and weapons depots, as well as Houthi headquarters.

The coalition representative linked the operation to Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia. He said that attacks on civilians and civilian objects would not go unpunished.

Attacks on Saudi Arabian airports

Earlier the same day, Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation reported three people killed and 36 wounded as a result of attacks on Abha and King Khalid airports on Tuesday and Wednesday. The coalition also said it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis north of Riyadh. On Tuesday, it reported intercepting and destroying another ballistic missile aimed at Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia.

According to the agency, the escalation of hostilities in Yemen began in July after a period of relative calm that followed a UN-mediated truce in April 2022. In September, the Houthis reportedly captured strategic positions in the Hodeidah and Taiz provinces, including the port city of Mocha, and later advanced toward Mayyun Island in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
