Chinese President Xi Jinping, speaking at the BRICS summit in New Delhi, India, called on the group’s countries to play their “due role” in establishing peace in the Middle East. He also said that member states should stand on the right side of history.

As the South China Morning Post reports, Xi Jinping described BRICS as the world’s most influential platform for cooperation among emerging market and developing countries.

The Chinese leader addressed summit participants in the Indian capital. He called on leaders of major emerging market countries to help achieve peace in the region.
