Islamabad court grants bail to 10 Chinese nationals in cybercrime case — Dawn
The Islamabad High Court in Pakistan has granted bail to 10 Chinese nationals accused in a cybercrime case linked to the alleged operation of an illegal call center. They have been barred from leaving Pakistan without prior court permission and ordered to appear at every hearing before the trial court.
Bail conditions
Justice Shah Rukh Arjumand issued a five-page written ruling, granting the post-arrest bail petitions. Each of the accused must furnish bail bonds of 500,000 Pakistani rupees.
As Dawn reports, the court noted that the case record did not specify the individual role or clear actions of each of the 10 accused. No specific electronic or independent evidence was provided to establish their individual involvement in electronic fraud or the dissemination of obscene material.

The case will continue to be heard
The court stated that the precise role, knowledge and connection of each accused to the alleged illegal activity must be established during the trial on the basis of evidence. At the current stage, their individual link to the allegations had not been clearly established, and the case required further investigation.
At the same time, investigators had already seized the necessary electronic and documentary materials, so the court saw no need to keep the suspects in custody further for investigative purposes. The decision also took into account that the main accused, Zahoor Alam, was granted bail on September 9, 2026, while another accused, Haider Khan, was granted bail by the trial court on August 29, 2026.
The prosecution may seek cancellation of bail if any of the accused violates the established conditions or fails to appear in court. They will subsequently stand trial while remaining subject to the restrictions imposed by the Islamabad High Court.
