Guangzhou's trade with ASEAN exceeds $20.5 billion in eight months — ECNS
In Guangzhou, China, trade with member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) reached 146.4 billion yuan, or about $20.5 billion, from January to August 2026. This is 6.6% more than in the same period last year, ECNS reports, citing Guangzhou Customs.
Car exports through Nansha
More than 360,000 vehicles were exported through the Nansha automobile port in Guangzhou in the first eight months of 2026. The figure increased by almost 37% year on year. A total of 67,000 vehicles were shipped to ASEAN countries, 26% more than a year earlier.
According to the source, the Nansha automobile port is South China's largest cluster of roll-on/roll-off vehicle transport terminals. At the same time, Nansha Port has more than 180 international container routes, including regular connections with fruit-growing regions in Thailand and Cambodia.

Fruit imports and manufacturing in Vietnam
From January to August, Nansha Customs supervised the import of 175,000 tonnes of fresh fruit from ASEAN countries. This is almost 6% more than during the same period last year.
Chinese companies are developing production chains in ASEAN countries: components are exported from China, while manufacturing is carried out abroad. In particular, Guangzhou Guoguang Electric Co., Ltd. began expanding its overseas operations in 2019 and established a manufacturing base in Vietnam.
Huadu Customs, which is part of Guangzhou Customs, appointed authorized economic operator program coordinators to work with companies establishing production sites in ASEAN countries. They will stay in contact with businesses, identify cross-border logistics issues and facilitate the implementation of the “One Port Pass” model.
