Trump may postpone China visit amid Middle East conflict

US President Donald Trump has announced the possibility of delaying his planned trip to China due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. Originally scheduled from March 31 to April 2, the visit is now uncertain as Trump emphasizes the need for cooperation with China to secure the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Trump highlighted that China should join a coalition effort to unblock the crucial waterway through which about 90% of China’s oil imports pass. He expressed hope that France, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and other nations would also participate in these efforts. Trump noted he would like to receive a response from China regarding assistance before his visit.

On March 15, trade talks between the US and China began in Paris, with the first round described as calm and restrained. The unfolding regional dynamics and their effect on bilateral relations remain closely watched by the international community.
