Since the beginning of 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized his predecessor, Joe Biden, at least 890 times—an average of three times a day. This is according to the results of a Reuters study.
Most often, the White House chief mentioned his predecessor in the context of the economy (more than 210 times), immigration (168 times), and foreign policy (138 times). In particular, Trump blames Biden for rising prices in the country, ammunition shortages due to transfers to Ukraine, the border crisis, and international conflicts.
He is employing this tactic six weeks before the midterm congressional elections to divert voters’ attention from his own falling approval ratings and the high cost of living.
Former White House official Megan Hayes called the current president’s behavior “obsessive” and noted that he is more focused on reexamining the results of the 2020 election than on solving the day-to-day problems of Americans. At the same time, the White House insists that Trump is merely correcting the mistakes of the country’s previous administration.
