U.S. President Donald Trump assured that the country has significant ammunition reserves, despite reports of a possible shortage. He also criticized those spreading such information and threatened them with long prison terms.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States has a “huge amount” of ammunition following media reports about the depletion of the Pentagon’s stockpiles,
“The U.S. has a huge amount of ‘ammunition,’ especially certain types. In addition, large quantities are being manufactured and delivered to the U.S. as needed,” Trump wrote on Truth Social early Thursday morning.
He did not specify exactly which types of ammunition he was referring to.
"Defense contractors are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history," he added.
"The 'whistleblowers' spreading these treasonous statements are being tracked down. They will face long prison terms!" Trump declared.
On Tuesday, CNN reported, among other things, that the U.S. military had used up nearly 80% of its interceptor missiles for its key THAAD missile defense system, and that high-ranking U.S. military commanders had warned that the Pentagon’s ammunition stocks were “dangerously low,” according to numerous sources.
