In Ghana, lawyer Atta Akyea denies leaving Adu-Boahene case
In Ghana, Samuel Atta Akyea, the lawyer for former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau Kwabena Adu-Boahene, denied reports that he had allegedly ceased representing his client in a court case. He described such claims as wretched and vile propaganda, MyJoyOnline reports.
Dispute over the document
In a statement dated September 10, 2026, Atta Akyea said that rumors of his alleged withdrawal from the case were linked to a dispute surrounding a document. According to the prosecution, the document was forged.
The lawyer said that the document had been admitted into the case materials as evidence without objections before Judge Francis Apangabuno Achibanga, who sat as an additional High Court judge.

Defense position
Atta Akyea stressed that he could not leave or renounce his client. According to him, the legal team is preparing a thorough submission that there are no grounds for continuing the proceedings.
He also said that the defense would challenge the prosecution's claims through the established legal process. The lawyer criticized media coverage of the case, insisting that matters of evidence and law must be decided in court. He expressed confidence in the defense's position and called the charges brought against his clients indecent.
