Two educators were dismissed in Yakutia following the United Russia party's defeat in the elections
A week after the State Duma elections, two education officials were dismissed in the Yakut village of Khoro: school principal Vladislav Ivanov and Sargilana Yevdokimova, director of the “Keskil” kindergarten. In the village’s election, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) outperformed “United Russia,” but local authorities did not explain the reasons for the personnel decisions.
Yevdokimova had worked in the education system for 34 years. Her employment contract was terminated in accordance with Article 278 of the Russian Federation’s Labor Code, which provides for the termination of a contract by decision of an authorized body. According to Yevdokimova’s daughter, Mia Oboeva, there had previously been no complaints or grievances regarding her mother’s work. On September 29, Ivanov, who had headed the school for three years, was also dismissed.
The personnel decisions took place shortly after the elections, in which the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) received 182 votes in Khoro, while “United Russia” received 119. According to local sources, voting took place at two polling stations, Nos. 93 and 94.
At the same time, the daughter of the dismissed principal emphasizes that she is not claiming a direct link between the election results and the dismissals, but believes that the circumstances surrounding the personnel decisions require an objective investigation.
