At least seven people were killed when a UPS cargo plane crashed near Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Kentucky. The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft, bound for Honolulu, lost altitude shortly after takeoff and struck two nearby businesses before exploding into flames.

Governor Andy Beshear said a thick cloud of black smoke rose from the crash site as dozens of emergency crews rushed in. Some employees reportedly escaped through back windows, while others remain unaccounted for.
