Morocco calls for protests against ties with Israel — Jerusalem Post
In Morocco, the Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Opposing Normalization called for protests across the country on September 25–27. The organization opposes what it says is the authorities’ decision to deepen and expand the official normalization of relations with Israel. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.
The Front also released a leaflet calling for an end to normalization and for preventing the opening of an Israeli embassy in Morocco. The organization linked the campaign to a meeting between Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in the United States on September 16, which was also attended by U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz.
Statements on diplomatic contacts
According to the Front, a representative of Morocco’s Foreign Ministry is to hold a meeting in New York with Israeli and U.S. diplomats to prepare a trilateral statement. In the organization’s view, it may provide for raising Moroccan-Israeli relations to embassy level and exchanging ambassadors, as well as expanding air links, economic, trade, military and security cooperation.

Citing Israeli media, The Jerusalem Post notes that Sa’ar and Bourita may hold further meetings in the United States during the planned protests. Both diplomats are expected to travel to the UN General Assembly.
The organization’s position
The Front stated that it opposes the use of embassies, agreements and economic exchanges to, in its wording, “whitewash” the occupation. The organization also expressed support for Palestinians’ right to freedom, independence, self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with its capital in Jerusalem.
In addition, the Front called on Morocco’s political parties, trade unions, civic associations and human rights organizations to defend Palestine and counter attempts to make normalization a commonplace phenomenon in Moroccan society.
