Three men detained in Nigeria after teenager’s killing
In Nigeria’s Plateau State, the military detained three men after the killing of 17-year-old Peter Gyang in the village of Kafi-Abu, located in the Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area. As Premium Times Nigeria reports, the teenager was killed by unidentified attackers during an isolated attack.
Operation in Kedawa
The military conducted an operation on Saturday after receiving intelligence about the killing. Personnel from Sector 4, Sub-sector 41 raided the settlement of Kedawa, which, according to the military, may have been the attackers’ route to Kafi-Abu and their escape route after the attack.
During the operation, 69-year-old Yakubu Jaoji, 28-year-old Mukadas Abubakar, and 56-year-old Muhammad Hassan were detained.

Checking possible involvement
The men were taken into custody to establish their identities and for further investigation. The investigation is to determine whether they were connected to the killing of Peter Gyang.
The military did not state that the detainees were identified perpetrators of the attack. Security forces continue operations in the Barkin-Ladi area to locate those who may have been involved in attacks and prevent the use of routes to access vulnerable communities and escape after attacks.
According to the military, units continue to monitor the area, where investigative and security measures are ongoing.
