In Germany, northwest of Stuttgart, two men discovered a vial labeled "Polonium-210" while searching for Easter eggs in a garden. This is an extremely dangerous radioactive substance.

This was reported by Spiegel.

The Ministry of the Environment seized the vial in the town of Feuchingen an der Enz that same evening. About 138 emergency responders in 41 vehicles, including a radiation protection unit, were on the scene.

The men were searching for Easter eggs in a garden on the outskirts of the city when they stumbled upon a white plastic vial with a red cap, a fire department representative said. According to him, after the discovery, they called the emergency number.

There were no handwritten labels on the substance, and the bottle was officially marked. Additionally, the bottle, weighing about 200 grams, turned out to be quite heavy.

And although firefighters initially assessed the find as genuine, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment later reported that no radioactive poison was detected in the bottle labeled “Polonium-210.”

Experts, “after initial tests,” conclude that “the found object is not polonium-210 (Po-210).” For metrological analysis using alpha spectrometry, the find will be delivered to the State Institute for the Environment (LUBW), reports Bild.
