Pakistan says more than 20 militants killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — ISPR
Pakistan’s security forces said they killed more than 20 militants during several engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province from September 3 to 5. Dawn reports, citing the Inter-Services Public Relations of the Pakistan Armed Forces (ISPR).
ISPR said the deceased belonged to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an organization banned in Pakistan that the state also calls Fitna-al-Khawarij. The agency also claimed that these militants were supported by India.
Clashes in North Waziristan
The ISPR statement mentions an operation in North Waziristan on the night of August 31 to September 1. According to the Pakistani military, security forces initially killed 15 people who were trying to enter Pakistan through the border with Afghanistan.
Later, another 10 militants were killed in the area of the operation, ISPR claims. The agency said that a total of 25 people who allegedly tried to cross the border were killed in that episode.

In another clash in North Waziristan, security forces detected the movement of another group of militants along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. ISPR reported the killing of seven members of this group.
Operations in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan
Another four militants, according to ISPR, were killed in two separate clashes during joint operations in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan. The military said it was conducting operations to search for other militants in the area.
The Pakistani army also blamed the Afghan Taliban regime for the militants’ cross-border activities, citing its failure to prevent Afghan territory from being used for attacks across the border. ISPR said that the counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-i-Istehkam initiative would continue.
