Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that Ukraine will not receive the remaining MiG-29 fighter jets due to its failure to fulfill agreements regarding the transfer of drone production technology.

Warsaw had been considering an exchange of aircraft for access to Ukrainian drone technology, but this process has stalled.

According to the Polish official, negotiations on such cooperation have been ongoing over the past few months.

“At first, they agreed to this decision, but today they are not honoring the agreement,” the minister emphasized.

When asked about the reasons behind Kyiv’s position, Kosiniak-Kamysz expressed the view that Ukraine is prioritizing domestic political interests and historical disputes.

“I think this stems from the strategy they have now adopted—that it is precisely this conflict, whose roots go back in history, that is currently shaping President Zelenskyy’s image,” he noted.

The head of Poland’s Defense Ministry added that this approach fuels the popularity of far-right political forces that capitalize on anti-Ukrainian sentiments.

At the same time, the minister noted that he does not consider the actions of the previous Polish government—which provided military equipment at the start of the full-scale invasion without imposing any conditions—to have been wrong.

Reuters reported on the Polish minister’s statement.
