In Poland, a woman caught a giant catfish over two meters long
In Poland, angler Beata Wojewoda caught a giant catfish measuring 234 centimeters in the Vistula River. Experienced angler David Kashlikowski helped her land the fish.
Beata Wojewoda shared her record-breaking catch on social media. “Glavkom” reported this, citing a post from the angler’s account “Hej tu Rybka.”
According to Beata Wojewoda, she managed to catch the giant catfish in the Vistula River, but her success depended largely on choosing the right fishing spot.
“It couldn’t have ended any other way. Two Vistula anglers in one boat. Me and David Kashlikovsky, an extremely experienced angler who knows the Vistula like few others. The final spot and a huge catfish on board,” the angler wrote.
For Beata Wojewoda, this catch was a personal record. In the video she shared, the fish appears to be about as long as the angler herself.
After the photo shoot, Beata Wojewoda released the catfish back into the Vistula.
According to David Kashlikowski, the appearance of such a large fish came as no surprise.
“Today I was a guest on the ‘Hej tu Rybka’ boat. Beata loves the Vistula just as much as I do, so there could only be one outcome: a huge, record-breaking catfish from the Vistula. It was so exciting,” he wrote.
The catfish measured 2.34 meters in length, after which it was released back into the river.

Earlier, on a river in the U.S. state of Alaska, a grizzly bear swam up to a boat with a fisherman and began catching fish near him. The man filmed the unusual encounter on video.
