In Singapore, a 22-year-old worker died after falling from a height at the construction site of the Tanjong Rhu Riverfront II residential complex on Tanjong Rhu Road. The incident occurred on September 28.

Fall during concrete work

As Channel NewsAsia reports, the worker and his colleagues were carrying out concrete-laying work on the 12th floor using a mobile concrete pump. According to Singapore's Ministry of Manpower, he fell at approximately 4:15 p.m.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force received a call to the construction site at around 4:20 p.m. A service paramedic pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Work at the site suspended

The Ministry of Manpower and police are investigating the circumstances of the death. According to preliminary police findings, no signs of criminal conduct have been detected.

Singapore's Housing and Development Board stated that, together with contractor BHCC Construction, it would provide the deceased's family with the necessary support and assistance. All work at the site has been suspended until further notice.

The Ministry of Manpower also ordered BHCC Construction to halt concrete-laying operations using a mobile concrete pump at the site. The ministry recalled that concreting equipment should be inspected before use, work processes must be properly supervised, and measures to prevent falls must be taken when working at height.
