Man sentenced in US for threats against Jews and Harris — Jerusalem Post
In the United States, 52-year-old Maine resident Thaddeus Wind was sentenced for online threats against Jews, Vice President Kamala Harris, law enforcement officers and Elon Musk. As The Jerusalem Post reports, citing the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maine, he was sentenced to time served and three years of supervised release.
Verdict and charges
Wind spent 17 months in custody before sentencing. In July 2026, following a two-day trial, a jury found him guilty on three counts of transmitting interstate threatening communications and one count of threatening the vice president of the United States.
According to the prosecution, Wind posted threats against Jews, Harris, Maine law enforcement officers and Musk on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. Evidence presented at trial also showed his hostility toward the people and groups targeted by his posts.

Investigation of the case
The FBI arrested Wind at his home in March 2025. According to prosecutors, during a search investigators seized evidence related to the threats, as well as swords.
U.S. Attorney for the District of Maine Andrew Benson said that threats made online can have legal consequences. Ted E. Docks, head of the FBI’s Boston Division, stressed that death threats against Jews, law enforcement officers and other people are not protected speech and constitute a federal crime. The case was investigated by the FBI and the U.S. Secret Service with assistance from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
