In the US, Julia Molchanova speaks for the first time about alleged abuse by Epstein
In the United States, Julia Molchanova has publicly spoken for the first time about the years she spent alongside Jeffrey Epstein. According to NDTV World, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, she said that Epstein controlled young women in his homes and concealed abuse by calling them his assistants.
According to Molchanova, when visitors came to the house, Epstein introduced her as an assistant. She considered this wording a way of concealing the real nature of what was happening in his residences.
Credit cards and expenses
In early 2019, while checking a credit-monitoring app, Molchanova discovered credit cards and purchases registered in her name. She said that she did not know about these accounts and had not used them.
On April 4, 2019, Molchanova wrote to Epstein that she wanted to have a “normal life.” She also said that she did not know about an entity created in her name.
Molchanova claims that Epstein gave women credit cards but demanded that they explain their expenses and photograph every receipt. She also said that he provided phones and laptops linked to his accounts, determined the women’s clothing and hairstyles, and controlled their weight.

Isolation and pressure
Molchanova said that she met Epstein at the age of 22 during a trip to New York from Russia. According to her, she did not speak English at the time, and Epstein promised to help her study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Later, Molchanova alleges, Epstein placed her in an apartment in New York where other women lived; around this period, she said, the abuse began. She described Epstein as someone who first gained control over others and then became cruel.
According to Molchanova, the women were forced to send Epstein messages of gratitude, including for attending Broadway shows. Refusal could provoke his shouting. She also said that she was ordered not to leave her room, and on one occasion she spent about 24 hours there.
Molchanova said that Epstein isolated women from friends and families and encouraged people in his circle to bring new girls to him. She said that she refused to introduce him to anyone and was punished for it. According to her, she did not contact law enforcement because she feared for her life due to Epstein’s influence and connections.
