In the United States, President Donald Trump published a poll on the Truth Social social network about a possible renaming of artificial intelligence, The Hill reports. He offered users a choice of one of three English-language names: Superior Intelligence, Extreme Intelligence, or Supreme Intelligence.

In the post, Trump said that, in the opinion of many people, the phrase Artificial Intelligence is inaccurate and very poorly worded. He called the proposed options a more elegant and accurate description of this phenomenon and urged followers to determine the best name for the developing “revolution.”
As of 12:45 on Saturday, more than 27,000 users had taken part in the poll. At the end of 2025, Trump had already suggested calling AI Supreme Intelligence, but noted at the time that industry representatives should make the decision.

Debate over AI regulation
The publication appeared amid disagreements between Trump and some Republicans in the US Congress over his support for the AI industry. Republican senators Josh Hawley and John Husted this week put forward initiatives related to data security and the development of data-center infrastructure.
Husted promoted a legislative initiative that would require technology companies to cover part of the costs of data-center infrastructure. Hawley invited executives of leading manufacturers of AI-based license plate-reading systems, including Flock Safety, to testify before the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism as part of an investigation into these devices.
House Speaker Mike Johnson said that the industry needs restrictions, while emphasizing the need for self-regulation and self-control. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called in his blog for slowing the pace of expanding AI model capabilities.
