In Stockholm, Sweden, hundreds of people took to the streets on Saturday to protest Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip. Participants in the rally, who gathered in the Rådmansgatan area at the call of civil society organizations, demanded an immediate end to war crimes against the civilian population of the Palestinian enclave, Anadolu Agency reports.

March to parliament

Protesters carried placards in support of Palestine and Gaza, calling for an end to genocide and a boycott of Israel. A column carrying Palestinian flags moved toward the parliament building. Participants chanted slogans about the deaths of children in Gaza and freedom for Palestine.

Demonstrators also spoke of the United States' complicity in war crimes in Gaza. Swedish activist and comedian Kerim Arslanadzic said he joined the protest to express support for Palestine.

Participants' statements and casualty figures

Arslanadzic said that the situation of Palestinians, including food shortages and inadequate infrastructure, is a significant loss for humanity. He also urged people and artists to use their public platforms to put pressure on politicians.

According to figures cited by Anadolu Agency, nearly 74,000 people have been killed and another 175,000 injured as a result of Israel's operation in Gaza since the events of October 7, 2023. The outlet also notes that, according to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israel continued its attacks after a ceasefire regime came into effect in October: more than 1,400 Palestinians were killed and nearly 5,000 were injured.
