One of Europe's Largest AI Data Centers Has Been Launched in Armenia – Bloomberg
In Armenia, Firebird, a startup with Armenian roots, has launched an artificial intelligence data center 45 kilometers from Yerevan, which is set to become one of the largest in Europe.
By the end of 2027, the facility’s capacity is expected to reach 300 megawatts, and the number of the latest Nvidia chips will exceed 70,000. Most of the capacity is intended for foreign companies, including the American firm Perplexity AI, while one-fifth of the computing resources is reserved for local projects and government agencies.
The launch of the project is linked to negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration authorized the export of Nvidia chips in 2025 to advance the negotiation process. The office of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that the agreements signed in Washington in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence have become “peace dividends” for the country.

In Yerevan, the U.S. and Armenia signed a Charter on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which marks a new phase in relations between the two countries.
