The Hungarian government plans to unblock 10,000 Facebook users

The Hungarian government has announced its intention to restore commenting privileges on the government’s Facebook page for approximately 10,000 users. These are accounts that were blocked during Viktor Orbán’s tenure as prime minister.

On July 1, a post appeared on the Hungarian government’s Facebook page promising to “unblock” thousands of users who had been restricted from interacting with posts during Orbán’s tenure, and it displayed a massive list of blocked accounts. According to the administrators, there are nearly 10,000 accounts on the list.

“It takes 13 minutes to scroll through the list of users that the previous government blocked on the government’s Facebook page,” the post states.

“Staff from the government’s communications department will lift these bans in the coming weeks. We are building a country where everyone can freely express their opinions—as long as they do not offend others,” the post adds.

This was announced on the Hungarian government’s page by its new administrators.

Germany is seeing a rapid increase in the number of Ukrainian men of draft age. This is evidenced by data from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) provided to the RND news outlet. The agency is tracking this trend against the backdrop of the overall migration flow from Ukraine.

The official reason sounds complicated: “improper organization of initial financial monitoring.” Simply put, the National Bank believes that the companies failed to adequately verify the origin of the funds passing through their terminals.
