Vučić announced the date of his departure from the presidency of Serbia

Aleksandar Vučić announced his intention to step down as president of Serbia on September 27. The Serbian leader said he would resign on that day.

“I would like to thank the citizens. I will invite whoever comes to power to a televised debate. I have served as president of our country for the longest time. I could not have done this without our citizens. I have served the citizens of Serbia faithfully—faithfully, diligently, devotedly, and persistently—and then I will leave as an ordinary citizen,” said Vučić.

The president added that he will then participate in the election campaign as an ordinary citizen. Early parliamentary elections will be held in Serbia in late October.

“I also have a pickup truck; I have my own car. I also have a trailer, since I won’t be able to sleep just anywhere. I’ll travel to the most remote villages and stay there until late at night. There are still many villages. There are thousands and thousands of villages I haven’t been to yet. I want to visit urban areas as well; I want to go to every city, stand outside stores and nightclubs to talk to people,” Vučić added.

This was reported by Blic.

The ruling Serbian Progressive Party unanimously nominated Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić as its candidate for prime minister.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that early parliamentary elections will be held in the country. The vote is scheduled to take place in October.
