Several people were detained in Amsterdam following an explosion at a gym

The explosion at a fitness club in Amsterdam occurred yesterday evening and immediately triggered a massive response from emergency services, which are still working at the scene, attempting to search the premises and not ruling out the possibility that there may still be victims inside. Due to these efforts, investigators are currently unable to fully enter the building, which effectively hinders a swift determination of the cause of the explosion.
At the same time, police have launched an investigation and detained several individuals who are being questioned for possible links to the incident, as well as seized a number of vehicles that may have been used or were in the vicinity of the incident. At the same time, law enforcement officials are not disclosing either the number of detainees or their roles in the possible events, citing the ongoing investigation.
According to Dutch broadcaster NOS, there are currently no new official theories regarding the causes of the explosion, and investigators are refraining from making public conclusions until the initial examinations are complete. The situation remains fluid, and key details of the incident, including motives and possible participants, are still being established. This is reported by NOS.
