Zelenskyy and Starmer discussed defense support and Europe’s joint air defense system

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during which they discussed increasing pressure on the aggressor. The leaders paid particular attention to combating Russia’s shadow fleet and London’s contributions to the PURL program aimed at strengthening the Ukrainian army.

The head of state announced this on social media.

A key topic of the talks was the protection of Ukraine’s energy sector and the situation on the battlefield amid constant shelling by Russia. Zelenskyy emphasized the need for European countries to coordinate their efforts to create a joint air defense system. According to the Ukrainian leader, such a step is critical for protecting the entire continent from the air threats posed by Russia.

The parties also discussed the negotiation process aimed at achieving a just and dignified peace. The President noted that Ukraine is fully prepared for the next round of trilateral talks and appreciates the UK’s unwavering stance on sanctions pressure against Russia. Continued cooperation between Kyiv and London remains the foundation for weakening the enemy’s military capabilities and restoring stability in Europe.

During a meeting in Yerevan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed to Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo that they strengthen their partnership by signing a drone deal.

Zelenskyy held a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during his visit to Yerevan. The head of state expressed gratitude for the significant support, particularly for contributions to the PURL program totaling nearly $1 billion.
