Zelenskyy is considering a visit to the U.S. to bid farewell to Graham and meet with Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is considering a diplomatic trip to the U.S. in July. The visit may include attending the funeral service for Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, as well as a bilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Diplomatic sources reported this to “Suspilne,” according to “European Truth.” According to the broadcaster, the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump could take place as part of ongoing peace talks aimed at resolving the war between Ukraine and Russia—the aggressor state.
As noted, Zelenskyy received an invitation to Graham’s farewell ceremony. The final itinerary, the full list of meetings, their participants, and the duration of the visit have not yet been finalized.
Sources also reported that if Zelenskyy is unable to participate in the planned events, discussions are underway regarding who will lead the Ukrainian delegation to the U.S. Lindsey Graham died suddenly on the evening of July 11 at the age of 71. The senator’s office stated that preliminary findings indicate damage to the aorta as the cause of his death. The day before his death, he met with Zelenskyy in Kyiv and visited the production facilities of the defense company SkyFall.
